THE 99 NAMES
Islamic Geometry
Islamic art solved a profound design problem: how do you represent the infinite without depicting the divine? The answer was geometry. Patterns that repeat without end. Tessellations that tile toward infinity. Mathematics as worship. The most sophisticated geometric art tradition in human history — and it shares its foundation with the Divinity Rule.

The pattern is the prayer.
In Islam, the 99 Names of Allah describe the attributes of the divine: The Merciful, The Compassionate, The Creator, The Shaper, The Light, The Guide, The Patient. Islamic artists took these attributes and encoded them in geometry. Every pattern in the Alhambra, every tile in the Blue Mosque, every page of an illuminated Quran is a mathematical meditation on the nature of God.
The prohibition against depicting living figures in sacred art didn’t limit Islamic artists — it liberated them. They developed geometric pattern systems of extraordinary mathematical sophistication. In 2007, physicists discovered that medieval Islamic tiling patterns at the Darb-e Imam shrine in Isfahan, Iran, used quasi-crystalline geometry — a mathematical concept that Western science didn’t formalize until 1984. Islamic artists were 500 years ahead.
The Divinity Rule and Islamic geometry share a root: the conviction that mathematical proportion is sacred. That the optimal solution is already written in the structure of the universe. That the designer’s job is not to invent beauty but to discover it. Lund Studio honors this tradition not by copying it, but by recognizing it as a sibling methodology. The grove and the mosque face the same truth from different directions.
99 Names. 99 products.
THE 99 NAMES is a 99-product luxury stationery and home décor collection. Each product is named for one of the 99 Names of Allah and features a unique geometric pattern derived from that Name’s meaning. The first 13 products launch at release (Fibonacci). The rest follow in waves.
Sacred geometry is a universal language.
The Divinity Rule uses phi (φ = 1.618) and Fibonacci sequences. Islamic geometry uses the same mathematical foundations — the golden ratio appears throughout Islamic tiling patterns, and the proportional systems used by master calligraphers follow the same harmonic relationships that govern the Divinity Rule’s nine principles.
This isn’t appropriation. This is recognition. The grove and the mosque arrived at the same truth independently because the truth is the same. Mathematical proportion is not owned by any culture. It is discovered by every culture. THE 99 NAMES honors Islamic geometry as an elder sibling of the Divinity Rule — a tradition that was encoding divine proportion in art five hundred years before Western mathematicians gave it a name.
The pattern never ends. That is the point.
