RICHARD
Built by hand. Governed by proportion.
The barn remembers.
Some names carry everything.
Richard is a premium cycling lifestyle brand. The name is a first name and nothing more. No surname. No explanation. No footnote. If you know, you know. If you don’t, the product will teach you.
The brand is built at the intersection of Midwest craft and mathematical proportion. Every stitch, every weld, every thread count is governed by the same ratio that governs the spiral of a nautilus shell. Not because it looks good. Because it works.
Three lines. One standard.
First collection.
Built in a barn. Governed by a grove.
The best things in cycling were built by hand in small spaces by people who cared more about the work than the credit. A red barn in Wisconsin. A frame shop in Italy. A wheel builder’s garage in Belgium. The craft came first. The empire came later — if it came at all.
Richard is that ethos applied to everything around the bike. Not the bike itself — the bike is already perfect. The jersey. The cap. The tape. The bag. The bottle. The stem. The things your hands touch every ride. The things that should be made with the same care as the frame.
Every proportion governed by φ. Every material chosen to age, not to expire. Every product limited in quantity because craft doesn’t scale — and it shouldn’t.
Iowa. Wisconsin. Colorado.
Carter Luense rides a Project One Madone with his name on the frame. Aeolus RSL wheels. Bontrager tan walls. 4,000+ miles a year on Colorado roads. A Speed Concept for the fast days. A Specialized Turbo Creo for the days the shoulder brace says no but the legs say go.
He grew up in Iowa. Built houses with his hands from 14 to 19. Ran nonprofit housing organizations across multiple states. Then built a design methodology from mathematical principles that are 77,000 years old.
Richard is what happens when a rider who understands craft meets a methodology that governs proportion. The barn and the grove. The frame and the formula. The hands that built houses now build brands — and the brands are built with the same care as the frame.
Two more founders. Coming soon. The barn is filling up.
Every page is alive.
No templates. No page builders. Hand-coded. Mathematically proportioned. Every animation from scratch.
Limited. Intentional.
The barn remembers.
Richard is in development. Three founders. Six products. One proportion. If you want to be part of what’s being built — the conversation starts here.
